If you’re wondering if ereading is for you, and you already own an iPod, iPhone or a Palm handheld – here are some tips for getting quality ebooks for free!

And no, we’re not talking run-of-the-mill, Make-money-fast ebooks. This is pure quality!

Read on for the list…

1. eReader.com has a list of free ebooks

The ereader pdb format is proprietary and most ereader.com books cost money. But they have a list of free ebooks – among which we currently find books buy Jonathan Lowe, Jane Austen, Jonathan Swift, Josehp Conrad (yes, they also have some authors whose first name does not start with a J).

2. Fictionwise.com has an expanded list

Containing some of the same ebooks as ereader.com but a wider selection of free ebooks. After all, Fictionwise bought Motricity a while back, and thus acquired eReader…

3. chuggnutt’s list of freebies

Jon Abernathhy, aka chuggnutt, has converted a long list of ebooks from the Gutenberg library to the PDB format, free for you to download. Now that’s customer service.

Baen Books, http://www.baen.com, has a free library of science fiction and fantasy books. Typically, they’re the first book or two in a series. Multiple formats available.
